Cassandra produced a short film, called ‘Self-Sufficient Sovereign’. The film fuses together 70’s influences with modern day digital platforms, whilst illustrating first world problems. The film follows the journey of a fabulous disco diva and witnesses her transformation into the Self-Sufficient Sovereign. It’s a celebration of natural afro hair through a heart shaped, rose-coloured lens.

As a part of Peckham Festival Cassandra’s film ‘Self-Sufficient Sovereign’ was screened at Gal-dem’s Film Festival. The showing explored British women of colour working in film and was followed by a panel discussion regarding what it’s like to work in an industry that is overwhelming white and male.
